LEGAL HELP

DOVES is the recipient of an Office on Violence Against Women grant for civil Legal Assistance for Victims.   Through the grant, DOVES and the CSKT Victim Assistance Program each have an attorney on staff to help with family law needs such as parenting plans, dissolutions and other related issues.  To find out if you are eligible for these services, contact either DOVES (883-3350) or the CSKT Victim Assistance Program (675-2700, ext. 1194) and request to meet with an Advocate. If you are eligible, you will be asked to fill out a form which will then be forwarded to the Attorney. These services are free, and sometimes the attorneys’ caseloads are full, so keep in mind that this avenue may not always be appropriate, especially for emergency situations.

The Montana Legal Services (MLSA) is a federally and privately funded program that provides free legal assistance in civil cases to low-income people.
